-Lit Terms Presentation -Fallacy Kahoots (2 groups that need to go) -Comma Practice Worksheet -Read through the Age of Reason Rhetorical Synthesis Essay Assignment -With your group, in your notebook make a new page for brainstorming for the essay: On this page, you will work with your group members to compile a list of the major devices/fallacies for each speech and then the impact that those devices have on the speech itself. You will need to determine the purpose/message for each speech in one sentence first then and how the devices/fallacies promote the message/purpose. Ask yourself what is the impact that the device has on the message as a whole? I would recommend working with your group or at least in pairs for each of the speeches. Homework: -Book Club Reading -Finish the brainstorming for the speeches--you can split it up amongst your group and get the notes from them tomorrow if that works easiest Learning Target: -I will be able to identify devices in the speeches and explain their impact.
